The Deputy Superintendent of Business and Support Services, shall serve as the chief financial officer and is responsible for providing administration and operation of the overall business, financial and operations of the District, including all business services functions, finance, purchasing, maintenance and operations, human resources, transportation, and nutrition services.
The Deputy Superintendent of Business and Support Services will serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Team, with a central role in school district planning and analysis of current programs, support systems and expenditures under the direction of the Superintendent.

Melissa Rodrigues was approved as the new Linder Elementary School principal by Austin ISD trustees May 20. A current Oak Hill Elementary School and former Govalle Elementary School assistant principal, Rodrigues has been with the district for 15 years, according to an AISD news release. Linder Elementary School is located at 2800 Metcalfe Road, Austin.

Carroll HS principal Kelly Manlove leaves for private-sector job

Carroll High School will need to search for a new leader. Kelly Manlove, its principal the last six years, is leaving to take a position in the private sector, Corpus Christi Independent School District said in a news release late Tuesday.

George P. Bush stresses public service at Edinburg CISD event
Edinburg CISD Superintendent René Gutiérrez said he hoped students will “pursue their dreams and their goals that they have established.”

Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush stressed the need for leadership and public service to the Edinburg school district’s top achieving students Tuesday morning at the McAllen Convention Center.
Bush delivered the keynote address to the seniors in the top 10% of their graduating class during an honor banquet. Students from all four high schools were present, receiving recognition, a plaque and tassel to symbolize their achievement.

Canutillo ISD partners with Project Vida for new healthcare center
|
The Canutillo community is getting greater access to healthcare thanks to a partnership between the Canutillo Independent School District and Project Vida health center.
Tuesday, they opened the Canutillo Northwest Health Center. The new center will provide convenient access to primary healthcare and behavioral health to patients of all ages.

United ISD’s music education program receives national recognition
|
United ISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Now in its 20th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Javier R. Vera, Director of Fine Arts, answered detailed questions about funding, music class participation, instruction time, facilities and support for the music programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
